KORPERSCHWACHE: As the color fades from the dying petals

Release date3 December 2012 worldwide

Crossing boundaries of sonic exploration, mixing sonic dirges with black metal and pure noise, and compounded by proto-industrial drum programming, As the colour fades… is a bold work from one of the most pioneering blackened noise guitar musicians working today.

One of the most drum-based works issued from Korperschwache in their intense creative output, sees the band weave one of their most cohesive and ambitious albums to date. The drum-based nature of the album allows a rigorous background for sonic exploration and the epic guitar drones Korperschwache is renowned for.

Korperschwache, formed in 1995, is the solo project of Austin, Texas-based musician RKF, with a sound that encompasses noise, black metal, drone, and dark ambient. RKF is also known for his now-inactive projects Autodidact and Unholydeathmachine, for running the label Monotremata Records (also now inactive), and for his music-reviewing webzine The One True Dead Angel.

Aquarius records has described Korperschwache’s sound: ‘The programmed beats minimal and robotic, the guitars murky and crusty, the vocals a super reverbed and heavily effected demonic croak, the songs, creeping and crawling, haunting and harrowing, shades of the Swans, Godflesh of course… Loop crossed with Abruptum, and we can definitely here that in places'

TO BLACKEN THE PAGES: BOGLAND

Release date 29 October worldwide

Bogland, TBTP/McAree's 6th release, and first in 3 years, sees a radical change in musical direction. Eschewing previous work drenched in fuzz pedals and effects, Bogland sees McAree focusing much more directly on clean – if still loud – guitar based work. The work here, not surprisingly, results in a series of shorter pieces, and sees McAree juxtaposing guitar based explorations against sounds created using largely free, visual-based apps on an ipad. This much simpler and direct approach to working also sees McAree use his voice across several tracks.

The Urgency

To Blacken the Pages 'The Urgency' marks not just this bands debut release, but also the first release from newly formed Colony Records. The Urgency presents 1 massive track clocking in at 47 minutes. Beginning with luscious, gently lulling guitars, it becomes saturated with a droning holler of feedback. The Urgency is a testament to failed hopes and dreams, residing somewhere between Earth's Thrones & Dominions and Skullflower.

Foldout cardboard sleeve, hand numbered in an edition of 100.

And we started again, as if nothing had happened before

And we started again, as if nothing had happened before presents 3 tracks, the first, The Shadow which Remains, crashing straight into 17 minutes of feedback and overdriven, burnt out riffs. The second track, I saw you it / and slid away, is 35 minutes of fucked guitars and bizzarrely,

about 10 minutes in, a Sisters of Mercy style drum machine. Halfway through the track breaks down into full-on meltdown with a luscious, fuzzed out ending. And then we changed our minds finishes things off with a 6 minute, one note, amp blender.

Foldout cardboard sleeve, hand numbered in an edition of 100.

Each disc in an edition of 100.

The first 60 of each printed on brown card, with 20 each on green card and 20 on charcoal. The print on charcoal is a little darker as you may expect. Black-bottomed, silver-topped discs.

Unless you specify that you want the green or black version, you'll more than likely be sent the brown version, until these run out.
